In our ever expanding and onward development we wanted to bring clarity about ministry and allow you to see the clear distinction between ones occupation and their identity. When we lose our-self in our occupation then that is one of the greatest loses a person can suffer. God came so that we could have life and have it more abundantly but if we quit or change course in the middle of the process then it is only the image of success that will live on. We will leave behind our soul and eventually our heart. Life is not just an occupation.
MINISTRY the work or vocation of a minister of religion : the ministry. • the period of tenure of a minister of religion. • the spiritual work or service of any Christian or a group of Christians, IE: evangelism, prophetic, healing, helps, etc.
The sign of a true minister is that they will crave solitude over the lime light. Our connection to the divine is something we cannot live without and yet to function in ministry,we are constantly trying to balance our time with Him verses our service for the people. When a minister is young, in his early years we must be trained and groomed for our future. But how and by who?
Admittedly the church at large today has become woefully inadequate in preparing ministers to function. The church can teach theology, doctrine, protocol, and a various array of needful things but this only partially prepares one for ministry. It is in prayer that a minister will find his voice and learn to be comfortable with His voice. It is in solitude where all of the five fold ministries are established. It is in solitude that our confidence is built and our fears are confronted. It is in solitude that we find the uselessness of works of the flesh, for they have not heavenly profit but merely earthly gain. The church is supposed to be led by Apostles, Prophets,Evangelist,Pastors and Teachers. This was the perfect design of God but we do have a counterfeit church, the religious institution. Even in Jesus time He contended with them. He was the first New Testament Minister and gave us the example in which we need to follow if we wish to have success and longevity.
Jesus did not come to contend with religion because religious service cannot see the divine. They are bound by duty, rules and regulations. A system built by men for men on the pretense it's about God.The scripture mentions Jesus at age of 12 speaking to the elders of the church, asking questions which they could not answer. His knowledge was divine. Their knowledge started off in the beginning as divine but throughout time they cared more for the customs and traditions of man instead.
Jesus had unlimited knowledge at His disposal due the fact of the time He spent with His Father, God. Jesus came to live among us, He became flesh and blood. To be bound by the same rules and regulations we were but He transcended far above what was previously taught.
How did He do this?
Jesus went to temple, obeyed the rules and regulations given to Him but His life of prayer was not built from these systems. His ability to pray and communicate with the divine was something that was practiced and rehearsed over and over. Yet there is not a rule book or any set guidelines to create a pattern for prayer. Prayer is basically communication between two entities. A minister will be known by his prayer life. You cannot make a ritual of a prayer life, many have tried and failed. Trying to emulate the prayer of of another man is futile. It's the passion to know Him that continually drives us. It's in solitude that we find Him and our relationship grows, deepens and flourishes. No man can teach you how to pray nor can a man really teach you how to speak prophetically or otherwise. Five fold ministers are to speak out of the relationship they have developed privately in solitude. He just allows us to speak publicly about certain things, to certain people or nations because they need to encounter His voice.
If you wish to be minister or feel called to the five fold ministry then you must be a person of prayer. Jesus fed 5,000 people plus on the mountain but they were not with Him on a daily basis. Jesus had twelve disciples but out of those twelve three became closer than the other nine, why? They wanted to be with Him. They were willing to pay the price to know the man deeper. They wanted to know about His Father, they hungered for more and yet out of the three there was left one named John at the cross. Out of multitudes of followers and disciples it boiled down to one man who hungered after the heart of Jesus, John. With him at the foot of the cross was Mary the mother of Jesus and Mary of Magdala, that's it. To know Him you will pay a price, the greater the calling, the greater and deeper the price will be.
When you want Him more than that sweet fellowship of the congregation, you will find Him. When you want Him more than television or anything else this world could offer you are getting closer still. Matthew 10:37-39 But it is in silence, in solitude that He will meet you. It is in this place that your voice will be established. Any and all schools of ministry can teach you things but you must carry that fire which burns in your breast. You must have already encountered Him in that place called solitude to find peace and contentment.
Are you in love with Him more than your own life? Is there anything in this life that has the pull on you more than He does? Do you know His voice well enough that you can find solitude anywhere, even in a crowded room? We cannot physically remove ourselves all the time, that would be selfish and thus your paradox. Solitude is just as much a frame of mind as much as a physical place. Can you say in 2014...
