In it's truest form prophecy is supposed to heal, deliver and set us free. It is supposed to give us hope and encourage us. From Genesis to the book of Revelation Father God has spoken to us prophetically. Every word we will need, every promise you can stand on is in between these pages. Truly after more than 35 years of public ministry it is my personal observation that prophecy if used correctly desires to cover us, to shelter us from the storms of this life. Prophecy is the voice and reason of God. Prophecy is His voice to each generation through His trusted servants.
Father God longs for you to become ever closer to Him, to confide in Him, to trust Him that no matter which direction the wind blows, no matter how dark the circumstances surrounding you become, He is able to give you shelter from your storm. Our ministry believes in personal prophecy as it pertains to you. But you must know without a shadow of a doubt that your trust and confidence is in Him ultimately and not of another man. This is a fair warning which pertains to all who minister and receive the call into ministry.
Do not make yourself god. Do not make a god out of other ministers.
We are His servants, we are not the master. His Word is prophecy and in order to fulfill it we cannot lean unto our own understanding but in all our ways acknowledge Him. He will always lead us and guide us and His Word will protect us if we just let it.
Prophecy is speaking forth what is on Gods heart and mind for His people. Not in words only but in demonstration of His power and His might. Signs will not only follow the preaching of His word but many times accompany it.
Creative arts, illustrated sermons and many other ways can be used to prophesy. We are merely the vessel He uses and flows through to reach out and touch the people before us.
